Empowering Josh
“I can't even begin to describe how much easier it is. It usually takes me 1 hour and 30 minutes to get home, and now it only takes 30 minutes!”
3 months ago, Josh got a job at Abington Services. Working shifts ranging from 7 am to 11 pm and living in Leadhills, there was no public transport available for him.
He had no option but to travel the 8-mile journey on his regular bike. It was a long, arduous journey, and he was finding it pretty tough physically.
After researching local eBike rentals on Google, Josh approached Gear Up for an eBike loan. We were delighted to help out.
Josh now has one of our Raleigh Stow-E-Way bikes. This is a folding electric bike designed for space-saving storage, and it is lightweight, making it easy for him to store at home and work. All of our electric bikes have pannier racks and bags, so he can take everything he needs with him for his shift.
“My favourite thing about the e-bike is not only does it make my journey quicker, but I also use very little strain and don't turn up to my shifts full of sweat or get home drained. It has made my work life a lot easier. I really appreciate Gear Up's help.”
In return, Josh has expressed an interest in helping us run our lockers at the new Golf Club in Leadhills. Here you will be able to hire an eBike to explore your local area. They will also be the highest e-bike lockers in the country! Watch this space for some updates on them going live.
